A Message For the Community From VOW ARC Chairperson

A Message For the Community From VOW ARC Chairperson

Welcome Summer!

Spring is usually the season when the VOW community is glad to put winter behind us.  We begin to revive flower beds, landscapes, and clean the winter algae/mold off our homes, driveways, and mailboxes.  This letter is to remind homeowners of the ARC Guidelines that were updated June 1, 2019.

Currently, the ARC consists of a Chairman and five committee members all representing the various VOW villages.  We are all here to answer your questions.  The intent of these guidelines is to:

  • a) Ensure quiet enjoyment for all residents
  • b) Minimize problems and expenses for the HOA
  • c) Provide for the architectural integrity of the neighborhood
  • d) Protect and enhance property values

Section IV of the ARC Guidelines provide:

House - Homes are free from algae/mold; shutters and doors not faded; trim painted and not rotten; roofs are not missing shingles. ARC Applications and approval is needed for changing colors of doors and shutters.

Property – Mailboxes & posts free of algae/mold; straight, well maintained; fences well maintained, free of rot, algae/mold, proper height, style & location; trash/recycling cans properly stored and not visible from the street. ARC Applications and approval is needed for all deck, fencing, sheds or other major yard improvements.

Yard – Grass, shrubs, landscape beds to be well maintained; tree limbs should not block or surround street lights, nor overhang roads.

Vehicle – All vehicles parked in driveway should have current license plates, state inspection and operable (no flat tires, broken windows, etc.); campers, boats or utility trailers are permitted for 72 hours to load, unload, winterize or spring clean.

Common Areas – If your property is next to any common area, remember there is no dumping of yard debris, no cutting of trees or clearing of weeds or grass.  This property is owned by the VOW HOA.  Contact us if you have any questions.

Trash/Recycling Cans – Trash and recycling cans are to be placed on the street the night before pickup and removed as soon as possible after pickup, usually that evening.  Cans are to be properly stored and not visible from the street.  Cans are allowed to be stored on the side of your house if behind screening or fencing.

The ARC will conduct site inspections at least twice per year, taking a neighbor-friendly approach during our inspections.  Meaning, if we encounter a potential violation, initially we want to bring it to your attention in person, if possible versus a letter.

Your cooperation and understanding of these guidelines is much appreciated.  The full set of the Guidelines are available on the VOW website along with ARC Application for Improvements and ARC Violation Report Form.

A very sincere THANK YOU to all the homeowners who have already addressed the maintenance guidelines mentioned above, your homes look fantastic!

Sincerely,

The ARC Chairman and Committee Members
